Program - SPIRIT LODGE
Do you or someone you know need a safe place to escape from
abuse?
Helping Spirit LODGE is a 33-bed transition house that opened
its doors for abused and battered women and children in May
1991. Since that time it has assisted more than 5,000 women
in stopping the cycle of violence.
THE LODGE can provide you with:
- A safe place for you and your children
- A home environment
- Friendship and support from Aboriginal women who are non-judgmental caregivers
- An education awareness in regards to family violence prevention
- Legal referrals and support for you and your children
- Referrals to specialized counsellors: for example, sexual abuse
- Referrals for specialized treatments: for example, drug and/or alcohol addiction
- Your culture will be respected
- On-going support and follow-up care services with Outreach Worker who works with all of Helping Spirit Lodge Society programs
